Biography

Hossein Fayaz Torshizi was born in Kashmar, Iran, on 28 January 1943. He has lived in Italy since 1967, where he pursued academic studies before settling in Urbino, obtaining in 1974 a Diploma in Professional Journalistic Culture.

From 1972 to 2005, together with his wife Wanda Vandi, he managed the company H&W FAYAZ, based in Pesaro with branches in the Rimini area, specialising in the import, trade and collection of Oriental rugs and textiles.

Since 2006, he has worked independently as a chamber-registered expert and court-appointed consultant for the Tribunal of Rimini, providing professional services that include:

  • Expert appraisal and official expertise
  • Authentication and condition assessment
  • Professional support to collectors, private clients and cultural institutions

Hossein Fayaz Torshizi is officially registered as an expert appraiser with the Chambers of Commerce of Pesaro and Rimini.

He is also listed in the CTU (Court-Appointed Technical Consultants) Register of the Tribunal of Rimini.

Experience in Carpet Production


In 1986, in Kashmar in north-eastern Iran, Hossein Fayaz took part in the creation of a prototype Persian Kashmar carpet produced in the Farsh Reza workshop of the Fayaz Torshizi family.

The carpet was signed “Fayaz” and numbered Kashmar Fayaz No. 10681, demonstrating his direct knowledge of traditional weaving techniques.
